CHICAGO – Even after finding some measure of redemption with the Dodgers, managing is still a solitary existence for Grady Little.

Cubs 9, Dodgers 8, 11 innings (AP)
The Chicago Cubs turned some ugly baseball in a sweet victory. Cesar Izturis singled home the winning run with two outs in the 11th against his former team Tuesday night as the Cubs overcame six errors and a 7-0 deficit to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-8. “It wasn’t pretty, but we won,” Cubs manager [...]

Maddux, back at Wrigley, not sure about 2007 (AP)
Greg Maddux went back to the Chicago Cubs’ clubhouse Tuesday, this time wearing a Dodgers cap. He visited the very familiar area to use the weight room, as all visiting teams at Wrigley Field do. Since he was traded from the Cubs on July 31, Maddux has moved up quickly. He’s now with a team [...]

Dodgers 9, Mets 1 (AP)
Maybe the Los Angeles Dodgers should try some more first-time starters. Eric Stults became the second Dodgers rookie pitcher to shut down the Mets, limiting New York to two hits over six innings in a 9-1 rout Sunday. Stults, a 26-year-old left-hander making his first major league start, combined with three relievers on a three-hitter.

Orlando Hernandez hadn’t faced Greg Maddux since the 1999 World Series, and their latest matchup felt every bit like a duel in October. If they meet again, it will be. Hernandez allowed one earned run in seven innings, and David Wright’s two-run single after Maddux left tagged the 40-year-old pitcher with a loss Saturday as [...]

Dodgers 5, Mets 0 (AP)
Hong-Chih Kuo reacted to the news that he would get another start in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ rotation with the same calm that he exhibited in his first start. “Just got to get ready,” he said with a blank look. Nomar Garciaparra and Rafael Furcal homered to help Kuo get his first major league victory [...]

Mets 7, Dodgers 0 (AP)
While Jose Reyes was all smiles describing the first inside-the-park homer he’d ever hit, Pedro Martinez couldn’t wait to tease the young shortstop — in two languages — about the popup that clanked off his glove. Reyes had the biggest hit in the New York Mets’ 7-0 victory Thursday night over the Los Angeles Dodgers, [...]

Dodgers 2, Brewers 1 (AP)
For Dodgers manager Grady Little, the only thing to discuss was Derek Lowe. Lowe allowed three hits and an unearned run in eight innings to help the Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 Wednesday night and stop a three-game losing streak. “Anything you said about this game outside of talking about Derek Lowe’s performance would [...]

Brewers 9, Dodgers 0 (AP)
After winning seven straight games, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been anything but lucky. Los Angeles lost its third straight Tuesday night, falling to the Milwaukee Brewers 9-0 as Doug Davis pitched a four-hitter and Corey Hart drove in a career-high six runs. The Dodgers have been outscored 27-8 in their last three games.
